Test first, then replace
A no-start isn't always the battery. Corroded terminals, a bad ground, a failing alternator or a tired starter can all look the same from the driver's seat.
We load-test the battery and check the charging system before anything gets replaced, so you don't buy a battery you didn't need.
New cars want to be told
Plenty of cars now track the battery's health and adjust charging to suit. Many newer Fords have a battery management system that should be reset after a new battery; skip it and some features can stay switched off until the system relearns. BMW, Audi, VW and other German makes need the new battery registered. Mazdas with i-stop call for a specific battery type.
We know which car needs what, and the setup is part of the $125.
Tampa heat is hard on batteries
Heat, not cold, is what wears batteries out fastest. Open-sun lots and hot garages in July take a toll, and a battery that seemed fine in spring can quit with little warning.
Trunk, seat or hood: same price
Some batteries hide in the trunk, like on a Dodge Charger or a Chrysler 300. Many hybrids keep a small 12-volt battery in the back. Location doesn't change the labor. It's $125.

Questions
Batteries, answered
Is $125 the total?
That's the labor, on any vehicle. The battery itself is priced for your car before we start.
Do you replace hybrid 12-volt batteries?
Yes, the small 12-volt battery that runs the car's computers, lights and locks. The big hybrid battery is a different job.
How long do car batteries last in Tampa?
Not as long as up north, because heat is what wears them out. If yours is three years old or more, get it tested before summer.
