Ram issues worth knowing
HEMI tick
On the 5.7 HEMI, a tick that keeps going after warm-up can mean a lifter roller is failing. Left alone, a seized roller can damage the camshaft, which turns a lifter job into a much bigger one.
Broken exhaust manifold bolts
HEMIs run hot, and broken exhaust manifold bolts are a known problem. An exhaust leak can sound a lot like a lifter tick, which is exactly why we diagnose before quoting.
Oil filter housing on the 3.6 V6
Ram 1500s with the 3.6 Pentastar use a plastic oil filter housing with the oil cooler built in, sitting in the valley of the engine. It's a common source of oil or coolant leaks, and reaching it means taking the intake off.
Brand guides, not a diagnosis. Two cars with the same symptom can have different faults, which is what testing is for.

Is a ticking HEMI always the lifters?
No. An exhaust manifold leak can sound similar. We find out which it is before anyone quotes engine work.

Will using you void my Ram warranty?
No. Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer or dealer can't deny your warranty coverage just because maintenance or repairs were done by an independent mechanic. Keep your receipts. Repairs the warranty itself pays for still go to the dealer.
