Audis, the way we work on them
Diagnostics, batteries, brakes, alternators, starters and inspections at your car.
Routine jobs on an Audi often need a scan tool step, and we never skip it.
Audi issues worth knowing
EPC light
EPC is the VW Group's Electronic Power Control warning, usually tied to the throttle system. Common causes include the throttle body, the brake light switch and engine sensors. Expect reduced power until it's fixed.
Coolant leaks on the 2.0 turbo
The third-generation EA888 2.0T can leak between the water pump and thermostat, and its plastic coolant fittings get brittle with age. Coolant in the oil can point to the oil cooler or filter housing.
Parking brake service mode
Rear pads on most current Audis need the electronic parking brake opened with a scan tool first. Forcing the pistons back can damage the calipers.
Brand guides, not a diagnosis. Two cars with the same symptom can have different faults, which is what testing is for.
Every Audi model
A4, A5, A6, Q3, Q5, Q7 and Q8, and every other Audi, at the same published prices.
Questions
Audi owners ask
Does my Audi battery need coding?
It needs registering, and coding too if the new battery differs from the original. Both are part of our $125 battery labor.
My Audi shows EPC and has no power. Can I drive it?
Gently, and only to get somewhere safe. Keep it off the interstate until it's been scanned.
Will using you void my Audi warranty?
No. Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer or dealer can't deny your warranty coverage just because maintenance or repairs were done by an independent mechanic. Keep your receipts. Repairs the warranty itself pays for still go to the dealer.
