Hyundais, the way we work on them

Batteries, brakes, alternators, starters and diagnostics at your car.

With Hyundai, knowing the warranty and settlement history can save you real money.

Hyundai issues worth knowing

The Theta II engine settlement

Hyundai's 2.0- and 2.4-litre GDI engines in 2011–2019 Sonatas, 2013–2018 Santa Fe Sports and some Tucsons were part of a settlement that added a knock sensor software update and lifetime coverage of short block repairs for original and later owners.

The 10-year warranty is for the first owner

Hyundai's 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty is for the original owner. Buy one used privately and powertrain coverage drops to 5 years/60,000 miles.

Pre-purchase inspection

Rear brakes on newer models

Many newer Hyundais use an electronic parking brake, so rear pad jobs need service mode first.

Brakes

Brand guides, not a diagnosis. Two cars with the same symptom can have different faults, which is what testing is for.

Every Hyundai model

Elantra, Sonata, Tucson, Santa Fe, Palisade, Kona and Venue, and every other Hyundai, at the same published prices.

Questions

Hyundai owners ask

My Sonata engine is knocking. Is it covered?

It might be. The Theta II settlement covers short block repairs on affected 2011–2019 models. Hyundai can confirm by VIN.

Will you tell me if a repair should be done under warranty?

Yes. If it sounds covered, we'll say so before you pay us for it.

Will using you void my Hyundai warranty?

No. Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer or dealer can't deny your warranty coverage just because maintenance or repairs were done by an independent mechanic. Keep your receipts. Repairs the warranty itself pays for still go to the dealer.
