Lexus issues worth knowing
Carbon buildup on the IS 250
The 2006–2010 IS 250's direct-injection 2.5-litre V6 is known for carbon deposits that cause rough idling and other drivability complaints. Lexus ran a customer service program for it.
Oil line leaks on the 3.5 V6
Lexus models with the 3.5 V6, including the RX 350 and ES 350, had warranty coverage for the VVT-i oil supply line, which should be all-metal. A rubber section can leak.
Hybrids have a 12-volt battery too
Lexus hybrids carry a small 12-volt battery that runs the car's electronics. When it's weak, the car may not start up properly. It's a standard $125 labor battery job.

Do you work on Lexus hybrids?
Yes, on the everyday parts: brakes, the 12-volt battery, diagnostics and inspections. The high-voltage hybrid system is a different job.
Is my RX 350's oil line the metal one?
We can check it during a diagnostic or inspection. If it still has a rubber section, it's worth replacing.
Will using you void my Lexus warranty?
No. Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer or dealer can't deny your warranty coverage just because maintenance or repairs were done by an independent mechanic. Keep your receipts. Repairs the warranty itself pays for still go to the dealer.
