Mazdas, the way we work on them

Batteries, brakes, alternators, starters and diagnostics at your place.

The biggest Mazda gotcha is simple: the battery has to be the right type.

Mazda issues worth knowing

i-stop needs the right battery

Mazda's owner's manuals say only specific battery types (Q-85 or S-95) should be used to keep the i-stop start-stop system working correctly. A generic battery can leave i-stop not working.

Water pump on the 2007–2015 CX-9

On the first-generation CX-9's 3.7-litre V6, water pump failures that let coolant into the oil are the most common engine complaint owners report. If you're buying one, find out whether the pump has been done.

Pre-purchase inspection

Brand guides, not a diagnosis. Two cars with the same symptom can have different faults, which is what testing is for.

Every Mazda model

CX-5, Mazda3, CX-30, CX-50, CX-9, Mazda6 and MX-5 Miata, and every other Mazda, at the same published prices.

Questions

Mazda owners ask

Does my Mazda need a special battery?

If it has i-stop, yes. Mazda specifies the type. We bring the right one, and it's still $125 labor.

Do you work on the Miata?

Yes, for the work we do at the car.

Will using you void my Mazda warranty?

No. Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer or dealer can't deny your warranty coverage just because maintenance or repairs were done by an independent mechanic. Keep your receipts. Repairs the warranty itself pays for still go to the dealer.
