Korean brands we cover
Each guide covers the issues worth knowing and the steps that brand needs.
Warranty first
Hyundai and Kia's 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain coverage is for the original owner, and certified pre-owned programs carry it too. Bought used from a private seller? Check what's left before paying for engine or transmission work.
The Theta II story
Many 2011–2019 Hyundai and Kia models with the 2.0- or 2.4-litre GDI engine are covered by a settlement that includes lifetime coverage of short block repairs. If yours knocks or shows an engine warning, check that coverage by VIN.
Everything else, at your place
Batteries, brakes (including electronic parking brakes), alternators, starters and diagnostics all happen at your car, at our published prices.
Questions
Korean car owners ask
Will you tell me if a repair should be covered by warranty?
Yes. If it sounds like warranty or settlement territory, we'll say so before you spend money with us.
Do you work on Genesis?
Yes. Genesis gets the same care and the same published prices as every other make.
Will using you affect my warranty?
No. Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer or dealer can't deny your warranty coverage just because maintenance or repairs were done by an independent mechanic. Keep your receipts. Repairs the warranty itself pays for still go to the dealer.
