VWs, the way we work on them
Diagnostics, batteries, brakes, alternators, starters and inspections at your car.
VWs share their electronics with Audi, so the same registration and service-mode steps apply.
Volkswagen issues worth knowing
EPC light and the brake light switch
If the EPC light comes on and your brake lights are misbehaving, the brake light switch is a well-known culprit. Otherwise the throttle body or a sensor is the likely cause.
2.0T coolant leaks
The EA888 Gen3 2.0-litre turbo in the GTI, Golf R, Tiguan and four-cylinder Atlas can leak coolant between the water pump and the thermostat housing.
Battery registration
VWs need a new battery registered so the charging system knows it's there. We do it with every battery we fit.
Brand guides, not a diagnosis. Two cars with the same symptom can have different faults, which is what testing is for.
Every Volkswagen model
Jetta, Tiguan, Atlas, GTI, Passat, Taos and Golf, and every other Volkswagen, at the same published prices.
Questions
Volkswagen owners ask
Are VW repairs more expensive with you?
No. Our published labor prices are the same as for any other car. Parts are quoted for your VW first.
Can you do rear brakes on my Tiguan or Atlas?
Yes, with the electronic parking brake in service mode first and reset after.
Will using you void my VW warranty?
No. Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer or dealer can't deny your warranty coverage just because maintenance or repairs were done by an independent mechanic. Keep your receipts. Repairs the warranty itself pays for still go to the dealer.
