Chevys, the way we work on them
Batteries, brakes, alternators, starters, check engine lights and pre-purchase inspections, all done at your car.
Chevy trucks and SUVs share engines across the GM family, so the same known issues show up on Silverados, Sierras, Tahoes and Yukons.
Chevrolet issues worth knowing
Lifter failures on 2019–2021 V8s
A GM service bulletin describes misfires from a bent pushrod and a collapsed or broken lifter on the 5.3-litre and 6.2-litre V8 in 2019–2021 Silverados and 2021 Tahoes and Suburbans. Misfire codes P0300 through P0308 are the usual clue.
Oil burning on the 2010 Equinox 2.4
GM put the 2.4-litre four-cylinder in the 2010 Equinox under a special coverage program for excessive oil use caused by piston ring wear. If an older Equinox drinks oil, that history matters.
Timing chains on the 3.6 V6
The 3.6-litre V6 in 2009–2012 Traverses, 2008–2012 Malibus and 2010–2012 Camaros was part of GM bulletins on timing chain kits, usually flagged by cam timing codes like P0008 or P0017.
A voltage reading that looks low
Many GM models vary alternator output on purpose, so one quick reading on a basic meter can look low when nothing's wrong. We test charging properly before replacing parts.
Brand guides, not a diagnosis. Two cars with the same symptom can have different faults, which is what testing is for.

Questions
Chevrolet owners ask
My Silverado has a misfire. Could it be the lifters?
On 2019–2021 5.3 and 6.2 V8s it's one of the known causes. A diagnostic narrows it down before anyone starts taking the engine apart.
Do you work on Chevy trucks at job sites?
Yes, if it's a safe place to work and we're allowed on site. Give us the address and a contact when you book.
Will using you void my Chevy warranty?
No. Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer or dealer can't deny your warranty coverage just because maintenance or repairs were done by an independent mechanic. Keep your receipts. Repairs the warranty itself pays for still go to the dealer.
